AEB&Wings SIM in Second Life
The Mitsubishi F-2 (nickname: "Viper Zero") is a multirole fighter manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and Lockheed Martin for the Japan Air Self-Defense Force,
with a 60/40 split in manufacturing between Japan and the USA.
Production started in 1996 and the first aircraft entered service in
2000. The first 76 aircraft entered service in 2008, with a total of 94
airframes under contract. The first AESA on a combat aircraft was the J/APG-1 introduced on the
Mitsubishi F-2 in 1995. In FY2005, Ministry of Defense changed the
category from Support Fighter to Fighter.

The Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk is a single-seat, twin-engine stealth ground-attack aircraft formerly operated by the United States Air Force (USAF) developed from the Have Blue technology demonstrator and produced by Lockheed's Skunk Works. It is the first operational aircraft to be designed around stealth technology. The maiden flight of the F-117 happened in 1981 and the aircraft achieved initial operating capability status in October 1983. The Nighthawk spent much of its early service life shrouded in secrecy,
until it was "acknowledged" and unveiled to the world in November 1988.

The Northrop F-20 Tigershark (initially F-5G) was a privately financed light fighter, designed and built by Northrop. Its development began in 1975 as a further evolution of Northrop's F-5E Tiger II,
featuring a new engine that greatly improved overall performance, and a
modern avionics suite including a powerful and flexible radar. Compared with the F-5E, the F-20 was much faster, gained beyond-visual-range
air-to-air capability, and had a full suite of air-to-ground modes
capable of firing most U.S. weapons. With these improved capabilities,
the F-20 became competitive with contemporary fighter designs such as
the General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon, but was much less expensive to purchase and operate.

The Lockheed SR-71 "Blackbird" is a long-range, Mach 3+ strategic reconnaissance aircraft that was operated by the United States Air Force. It was developed as a black project from the Lockheed A-12 reconnaissance aircraft in the 1960s by Lockheed and its Skunk Works division. Renowned American aerospace engineer Clarence "Kelly" Johnson
was responsible for many of the design's innovative concepts. During
reconnaissance missions, the SR-71 operated at high speeds and altitudes
to allow it to outrace threats. If a surface-to-air missile launch was detected, the standard evasive action was simply to accelerate and outfly the missile.The SR-71 was designed to have basic stealthy characteristics and served as precursor to future stealth aircraft.

The Northrop/McDonnell Douglas YF-23 was an American single-seat, twin-engine fighter aircraft technology demonstrator designed for the United States Air Force (USAF). The design was a finalist in the USAF's Advanced Tactical Fighter (ATF) competition, battling the Lockheed YF-22 for a production contract. Two YF-23 prototypes were built with the nicknames "Black Widow II" and "Gray Ghost".

The Sukhoi Su-37 (NATO reporting name: Flanker-F) is an experimental single-seat, supermaneuverable multirole jet fighter, designed by Sukhoi. A further development of the original Su-27 "Flanker", it was modified from the first-generation Su-35 (formerly "T10M") prototypes. The Su-37 features an upgraded avionic suite and fire-control system, but its most notable additions are the thrust-vectoring nozzles. Only two prototypes were converted.
